Metal Products Manufacturer Study
Pinnacle Engineering identified opportunities to decrease the client’s extensive use of water in its manufacturing process. Due to the quality of the water, the client was incurring significant costs for pre-use treatment of water as well as post-use water treatment to meet Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) discharge requirements.
Pinnacle conducted a comprehensive engineering study of water usage rates for each manufacturing process within the facility. Process flow diagrams were compiled for each production area, and Pinnacle quantified water usage rates and identified water chemical usage rates for each area.
By conducting an independent, detailed analysis of the manufacturing plant’s process water usage and water treatment chemicals, Pinnacle’s engineers were able to provide the client with recommendations for opportunities to save both water and money. Recommended actions were completed in-house by the client, providing cost-effective solutions.
